I started my teaching assisting and actual teaching on September 9th until 17th, 2019.

Science subject scheduled from Monday until Friday. The Science class per meeting is about 1 hour. I taught three classes of Grade 9 in a day, as shown in table below.

TEACHING PRACTICE: PROCEDURES AND TIME MANAGEMENT
The Science class per meeting is about 1 hour. I separated three activity. Ice Breaking where the prayer, motivation, and checking of presence were involved about 10 minutes. Then Core Activity where the explanation and discussion involved about 30 minutes. Lastly in Closing Activity where the assessment, review and assignment were involved about 20 minutes.
I started Ice breaking with prayer, checking of presence, and check the students prior knowledge about the subject matter by giving them questions.
In Core activity, I deploy power point presentation slide and chalkboard to explain about Chemical Bond, but I used chalkboard a lot to explain how sharing electrons happen inside an atom and integrated it with sense of giving and sharing in human life. After explanation, I divided the class into groups and let them have group discussion.
In Closing activity, I let the students do individual drill to solve some questions for asses their learning ability, then review the topic and gave assignment for next meeting.

PROBLEM SOLVING
Problem that I found inside the class was some students enjoyed their own activity while I taught them. With the number of students almost 40 persons, it was not easy to manage their focus. I went around the class from frontseat area to backseat area to check did my students followed my instructions or not. The way I solved this problem, I made group activity and asked the students to take note the result of group discussion by individual. So, everybody participated.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
When I taught my students, I kept my position in the center of the class, so students could see me wherever they sit. I position the table in the center so I could deploy the power point slide presentation. In discussion activity, I actively walked around the class to monitoring if the students did my instruction or not. Then when I gave them questions for individual drill, I asked them to collect the paper in my table.

For Narra SSC, they were really fast learner, at my first teaching-demo day, I done my actual teaching at 08.00 when it should be 08.20. In case I’m too fast to teach them, I prepared many examples to explain to them for the next meeting.

For Agoho Class, the students were really passionate about my presence, they were excited about topic that related with human daily activity, they also curious about Indonesia culture, so I made it clear to focus on subjects first and we’ll talk about that later at the end of lesson.

For Banyan Class, they were quite shy to express themselves when I asked questions, so I planned the lesson into a game to made them active, and it worked.

What I loved from my students were they always followed my instructions and keep listening me when I explained the topic.
